Qualifying

(above article was published before qualifying)

This is my 'official' blog for my run-up to the 2008 Olympics, Beijing.

Ran in Sydney last weekend resulting in a personal best (pb) of 20.56 seconds - winning the 200m. I'm absolutely blown away, that's .03 seconds off the qualifying time for selection to Beijing, my ultimate goal - the Olympics! I was drawn on the inside of Daniel Batman who is pretty sharp over 100m. I had a good start on him and had him at 90 metres and I knew then that I was in for a good time. I ran the bend really strong, as I always do, and push hard down the straight. It was good hearing the rest of the field right behind me as they pushed me through to the time. June is due to give birth to our second son on February 2 so to have the time now has taken the pressure off for that period!
